Review of Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa at Stowe in Vermont! #adBOSTON AND AROUND, NEWS, REVIEWS, SPONSORED, Travel | Nirasha Jaganath | June 17, 2015 at 7:51 am
Travel is one of those things that guided me to move to the USA. I honestly believe if I was a millionaire I would spend all my money traveling. When I was approached to take a test run of the Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa, we were in the midst of debating a home sale so it was welcome respite. Vermont is one of my favorite states hands down for their progressive attitude towards the environment so I was thrilled to head there.
You know that feeling when you want to be in a hotel and not make the bed or vacuum the carpets? Or that feeling that you DON’T want to put on real/public-worthy clothing just to get a cup of coffee? Well the Stoweflake resort kind of marries those two concepts. So you could wake up and whip up a batch of scrambled eggs in their fully equipped kitchen or just walk over to Charlie B’s (the in house restaurant) and eat there instead. Or you could grab breakfast from there, or any fine restaurant in the restaurant and eat it in the amazing dining room.
See I love (love, love) hotel rooms but with my kids the place sometimes feel smaller. For little people they take an awfully good amount of space. Choosing 2 rooms at a hotel is not an option especially with my girls being younger so a little “house” more than satisfies our needs.
With everything from fireplace (actually fireplaces: there’s one in the lounge and another in the master bedroom), 2 bedroom (each with their own full bathroom), a jacuzzi, a full kitchen, lounge, porch and more.
I’m a little picky about food, and if you follow my Instagram account you will see this clearly, so when I say we loved the food, I’m not kidding. My kids were excited to see that food like salmon was on the kid’s menu. Of course we loved that we could enjoy everything from pasta to seafood. Breakfasts are my weakness, give me a hot breakfast with fresh veggies and fruits and you are my best friend.
So I just missed the skiing season but if you’re a winter fanatic (I’m a tropical girl to the core) Stoweflake offers a variety of winter activities from skiing, to hiking with snowshoes. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool that is used in Winter! I know! We opted for the indoor pool as they were cleaning the pool during that weekend.
The best feature of Stoweflake is the the Spa! People travel all over to sample the spa and I got to see why. I experienced the Green Mountain Coffee wrap. It promises a rejuvenated skin and while I was a bit distracted after to notice (the sick kid) I was surprised to see how much smoother my skin was. So while I have given up caffeine in 2015, I never promised not wrapping up my body in it.
There are beautiful hikes straight out of your door. Literally! I got to sample a little of it but could not venture too far as my little kiddo had decided to get sick (kids!) Vermont is famous for many of my favorite brands and I was lucky to get to see several of their factory stores right here including: Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream, Cabot Cheese, Lake Champlain Chocolates and more.
Disclosure: I was hosted at Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa along with my family. Our meals and my spa treatment were covered but no compensation was received. Words are my own!
