Alvin Ailey hits #Boston! Win 4 tickets!

As far as I can remember I have been in awe of Alvin Ailey. And all of this just from blurbs and on television. The moves mesmerized and captivated me to literally jaw dropping moment. There is no doubt that talent oozes out from the performance.

About Alvin Ailey

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. Led by Alvin Ailey and a group of young African-American modern dancers, that performance changed forever the perception of American dance. The Ailey company has gone on to perform for an estimated 25 million people at theaters in 48 states and 71 countries on six continents — as well as millions more through television broadcasts.

Now this performance is extra special as it marks the farewell hometown performance engagement of Kirven Douthit-Boyd, who was raised in Boston and trained at the Boston Arts Academy, Boston Youth Moves, and the Boston Conservatory.

Celebrity Series of Boston will present the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater March 26-29, 2015 at Citi Wang Theatre, 270 Tremont Street, Boston, MA.

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater with the Celebrity Series of Boston made their debut in 1968 and have appeared regularly since 1970. This will be the 45th anniversary of the show but you will want to grab your family to watch this.

Late last year my girls started dance classes and I know that this is the perfect time for them to sit in the presence of such talent. After painstakingly practicing they will appreciate seeing the perfectly choreographed show and I’m ridiculously excited to take them to it.
