Win a year’s subscription to National Geographic Kids!

CONTESTS, REVIEWS & CONTESTS | | December 29, 2013 at 8:58 pm

Being a National Geographic Kid’s Ambassador has its perks, I get you give you a years subscription to either National Geographic Kids or National Geographic Kids, Junior. My kids drool over every page of their National Geographic Kids magazine and the reason I am proud to be an ambassador is because I would easily spend my money on their books because I believe heart and soul in them. In fact I just bought them those cool “Funny Fill In” books for our road trip to NYC this past week.

Not only are the 6 and 8 year old learning about parts of speech (adverb etc) but they are enjoying being creative and learning new facts too. That’s my other love of National Geographic Kids, the fact that kids can draw excitement from non-fiction too. Learning amazing facts is so often filed in the box of “for school” that many parents underestimate the power of facts to thrill our kids, as they learn.

Kids are wicked smart (sorry that’s the Boston in me) and we need to give them access to amazing resources like National Geographic Kids and allow them to learn. Truth is, I’m learning plenty too. I love when I’m driving and the kids tell me amazing weird but true fact that they picked up. Ok, some times it is a tad embarrassing when they debunk all those tales I’ve been saying for ages as myths. I suck up my pride and chalk it up to “at least they’re learning”!

Can I just say what a relief to find soemone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
