Wizard Of Oz Celebrates 75th Anniversary, 3D IMAX Style (Giveaway – 50 screening passes)

BOSTON AND AROUND, CONTESTS | | September 6, 2013 at 2:03 am

Would you believe that this year is the 75th Anniversary of the original Wizard of Oz? It is something of a milestone in movie industry’s history and they have found the perfect way to celebrate it and in a way that modern audiences can relate to. For ONE week only the original Wizard of OZ will be released in IMAX 3D format.

Here’s a little about the movie:

Marking the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, Warner Bros. has produced a 3D remastered version of the film which will launch a comprehensive, cross-divisional campaign encompassing theatrical, home entertainment, consumer products and a number of promotional partnerships. Kicking off the celebration, The Wizard of Oz 3D will be presented in the immersive IMAX® 3D format and return to the big screen for an exclusive one-week engagement in IMAX® theatres across North America beginning September 20, 2013. The IMAX® release The Wizard of Oz will be digitally remastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 3D Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Remastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX®‘s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Now do you want to see it? Lucky for you I am giving away 50 passes to the screening!

Advance screening of Warner Brothers Wizard Of OZ in 3D on Sunday, September 15 at 10:00am at AMC Boston Common.

For the chance to receive four tickets to the screening please visit www.gofobo.com/RSVP and enter the code:MOMNIRSLB0

  • You  must also have a Gofobo account (in that link I posted below) in order to get the passes but if you don’t have one already it’s free and really easy and quick to create one.
  • Seating at the screening is not guaranteed and is available on a first come, first serve basis (since screenings are overbooked to ensure a full house) so if you get there with your printed pass earlier you can get fab seats. I recommend a minimum of an hour before.
  • You can get up to 4 passes each (how amazing is that) – trust me they will go fast!

Get passes here!

Feel free to leave a comment below (after you get your passes) to let me know you will be there.
