Win 4 tickets to Boston’s Museum Of Science + OMNI Theater #Boston

BOSTON AND AROUND, CONTESTS, REVIEWS & CONTESTS | | February 15, 2013 at 9:14 pm

CONTEST CLOSED!
Congratulations Dollops Of Diane!

Being that my husband and I are both recovering engineers it would seem pretty obvious that the Museum Of Science would be close to our heart. And it is! Boston is such food for engineers and STEM lovers alike that you would be hard pressed to find a week where some STEM-like activity is not happening in the city. I love that Boston has such a huge variety of amazing places that stimulate your intellect.

I wrote before about seeing To The Arctic at the Museum of Science and how I was blown away. It still is the only thing that comes close to the Soarin’ ride at Disneyworld (my favorite) and I am super eager to see this feature film with underwater as its focus.

Next week is school vacation here and of course I am making heading to the Museum of Science a priority.  You can see a lot of what’s happening at the Museum Of Science website, but helow is just a teaser.

EXHIBIT

Design Zone

(About this exhibit from the museum)

What does it take to make a video game you can’t put down? How many beats per minute do you need for rhythms that draw your friends onto the dance floor? How do you design a roller coaster or a skate park to give riders the biggest thrills? In Design Zone, learn the science behind some of the world’s most energizing experiences.

Art, music, and engineering — math concepts are the foundation for amazing creations from these fields. Put your own math skills to the test as you match beats to sample tracks, create and test your own roller coaster on a giant magnet wall, and more!

OMNI THEATER showing IMAX films

The Last Reef: Cities Beneath The Sea!

(About this show from the museum)

Fly across iridescent tropical reefs, brush through a cloud of a million jellyfish, and visit an alien world where the closer you look, the more you see. We think of reefs as exotic, distant places with little or no connection to our everyday world. Yet every reef is a living city beneath the sea with a parallel existence to ours, distant yet undeniably connected.

Reefs are hotspots of biodiversity as vital to life on Earth as the rainforests. They have been shaping our shorelines, literally forming islands and mountains, for millions of years. But the world’s coral reefs are also vanishing at five times the rate of the rainforests and could be gone within our lifetime. Like cities on land, though, reefs can rebuild. Catch a glimpse of the future with an inspirational vision of the reef’s incredible power to flourish again

I would LOVE to take a trip to Boston with my husband and my son to the Museum of Science. I’d see which friend or relative we could wrangle into the day trip with us, too. :-) My parents used to take my brothers and me there every summer because we loved it so much, and I keep saying I want to go back!
