Boston Ballet’s The Nutcracker! Win A Pair of tickets!

BOSTON AND AROUND, CONTESTS | | December 6, 2012 at 8:28 pm

Congratulations Melinda!

I saw Boston Ballet’s The Nutcracker over 10 years ago. I scored cheap seats way in the back and was excited to take my boyfriend (now husband) to it. Hubby is not the artsy type so I was a tad nervous he would not like it, but I felt confident I would be enthralled – live theater always excites me. Also, there is no fun in watching anything alone so I was happy he was there, but he surprised me by actually enjoying it. Score! Fast forward some years and I have been putting off going to The Nutcracker as I thought my girls were too young. Last year however I started toying with the idea that they were ready.

Both my kids are amazing at movies,  theater performances and live shows so I was tempted. This past Sunday we came pretty close as we were invited on a special media event, which included a backstage tour. It was a week that I had planned a wonderful party for fellow bloggers, decided to renovate my kitchen and 3 of us in the family got sick (including me). Yeah, I was super sad to miss it but life happens.

But my loss is your gain. I get to give one of my readers a pair of tickets. I have heard that this year the show is completely revamped with amazing costumes. I am still itching to see it and who knows but after the comments from everyone I know who has seen it, I would recommend you checking it out.

About The Nutcracker:

Boston Ballet debuts an entirely reimagined production of The Nutcracker complete with all-new sets and costumes, as well as new choreography and characters! This holiday classic is presented by State Street Corporation and will run from November 23 – December 30 at The Boston Opera House. Voted ‘The Best-Loved Nutcracker in the U.S.’, Mikko Nissinen’s new production of The Nutcracker carries on the beloved tradition. “This was a wonderful opportunity for the company and I to create a completely new visualization of this production,” said Nissinen. “For audiences it’s a fabulous opportunity to fall in love with this holiday tradition all over again”.
