I tend to steer away from writing about things that make huge claims about changing your life be it cosmetics (I ain’t no guinea pig), devices or drugs. When Slim-Fast approached me to try their new ready to drink bottles I said yes. Truth is I dabbled in the powder form for a bit and know that there are no drugs involved, just a whole lot of vitamins and protein to keep you full, and ensure you are getting what you need. I wake up in the morning and make tea while we rouse up the girls. In between running around laying them breakfast, packing their lunch and getting their clothes I can barely breathe. I end up in fact re-heating that chai and taking it to go as I do drop off. Needless to say I am starving by the time I get back.

But I don’t always make myself breakfast when I get back.  I feel the need to just open my laptop and start working. Of course by now I am downing so much junk as I loathe having to leave my work as there is always some deadline looming, to make a meal. Am I saying that Slim-Fast is better than a very healthy home made meal? Heck no! But the reality is those cannot come for every meal. Also I hate to keep reading calories. Working out the right proportion is no easy task. Having something that not only does not harm me but provides nutrients is an easy decision for me.

Now not only is it convenient , but get this, they are delicious too. They come in the following flavors:

  • Creamy Milk Chocolate
  • French Vanilla
  • Cappuccino Delight
  • Rich Chocolate Royale
  • Strawberries N’ Cream
Now tell me those don’t sound YUM? So I figured I would grab a Slim-Fast, which I keep in my fridge (tastes yummier that way), and head to drop off time for kid. I feel relieved to know that I am done with breakfast and feel like I can make a healthy meal for lunch without those pangs of hunger driving me crazy. I am always a skeptic, ask my friends how it drives them insane, so when something says  ”4 hours of hunger control” I think – boy it has not met my tummy, but it does. I have not timed it per-se but enough time that I forget until next meal time arrives.
So I will be keeping Slim-Fast ready-to-go bottles because hopefully in the long run it will help me shed this baby weight (can I say baby weight when my “baby” is now 4?) in a consistent and safe manner. Also I have no excuse for reaching out for bad choices when my body is shaking with hunger. To get me from “NOW to “WOW” the kind folks from Slim-Fast sent me a Sephora giftcard.
