CONTEST CLOSED!

Congratulations Dina!

Every year I have noble intentions. I plan that I will get a spree of wonderful pictures and I will create the perfect card. I also dream of having perfect penmanship, after finding everyone’s address and then managing to mail the cards (even internationally) on time. Yeah, a pipe dream. Each year I fail and scuttle around last minute to do something half decent. Then I spend more time arguing with my husband who insists that it is not worth it and to just skip it. Just skip it?? How can I skip it? I mean even through the frustration of it all, compounded by a gazillion pictures with my kids doing funky stuff in their photos, the guilt ensues the moment I get a card from a friend in the mail.

So when the kind folks over at Minted.com asked me a few months ago if I wanted to check out their Diwali selection, I said ok. Then I blinked and Diwali was over. Of course these wonderful guys extended the offer for the holidays. After peeking at their site, I was floored. The crisp and clean look appealed to me on so many levels. Nothing drives a user more crazy than dark colors and cluttered windows. It is clear that the aesthetically appealing designs come from the fact those that make it are actually submitted by people and voted in. Being minimalist people (ok so really hubby is, me I am just one in training) we liked the less glitzy choices.  Simplicity was definitely in most of the choices as was the one I selected.

Even if you love a site with holiday cards, choosing and using the photos to embed can be somewhat tedious. For the most part I loved that it was easy and though I would have loved a little dragging and dropping it was still pretty usable. There was never a frustrating moment and while that may seem small, if anyone has created photo cards, especially ones with multiple photos, that is a huge plus point. About the design aspect:

Minted holds monthly design challenges for stationery, invitations, calendars, and other categories and all graphic designers are invited to enter. The Minted community selects the best designs in a highly competitive process, which gives us a top selection of the freshest, finest cards in the world. Winning designers earn cash prizes, a place in the Minted collection, and commissions on all sales of their designs.

The eco-friendly options make this a green lover’s choice too. I honestly felt like I was creating a holiday card with the same elegance as you would choose a wedding card. I also did something different this year, we wrote a little something about the year gone by. Oh, and if you are a close friend or family, pretend you have not seen this snapshot here.

So I have a discount code and a giveaway for my readers.

Use discount coupon code NIRI10 for 10% off these amazing cards. Sure you could get the regular basic cards from a drugstore but when you have amazing quality cards, people notice.

Would you like to win a set of  75 cards (with backers) ?

Now when the winner sends these beautiful babies out and when everyone raves over these cards, you better be telling them that you won these Minted cards on MommyNiri.com, right? To win tell me how many cards do you send out each year Winner chose by random.org. Giveaways open to  US residents only.
