Minding Your Own Business! #lovelocalCONTESTS | Nirasha Jaganath | July 14, 2011 at 7:20 pm
My dad, after struggling to gain employment finally decided to start his own business. Although it was small it flourished. There was something amazing about having small local stores that are not a cookie cutter copy of stores in every state. At the time I really resented the amount of work that went into it and thought I would never run my own business. After over a decade of working as an engineering I grew see the benefits of creating something for yourself.
My husband had come fresh from his MBA and was keen on business and I was still skeptical as to the time it took. After I left my career to spend time with my kids I never considered blogging would bloom into a full business but here it is. Forming an LLC, filing taxes, writing checks (receiving checks), writing invoices, signing contracts etc all made it pretty clear we were running a business. Do I work harder than ever? Yes! Do I love it? Yes!
