Six Flags New England: Rain Or Shine A Perfect Ride! (Win A Family Pack Of Passes)CONTESTS, REVIEWS | Nirasha Jaganath | June 27, 2011 at 9:12 am
Years ago I had my first and only trip to Six Flags in New Jersey. It was so long ago before marriage and kids and the vague memories of thrills and jam-packed theme parked filled my head. Although I knew that there was a Six Flags theme park opening in New England I thought my kids would be too young for it. So needless to say when I was invited to a special media day at Six Flags New England, and we had been to Disneyworld a few months earlier I thought the timing was perfect for an introduction to Six Flags theme park.
Truth be told I was expecting to have to repeat several times “oh honey you’re too young to ride that!” but hoped they would take it at that. The fact that it rained heavily en-route there did not dampen our spirits. Luckily it tapered off a bit and we were led to the coasters. Once upon a time I was cool and did all of the thriller stuff and then I became saddled with responsibilities and practicalities and became boring. Although I am working on kicking up the coolness factor (check up my balloon ride or my zip-ride) it certainly takes an effort. The fact that I have 2 fearless kids does not help and having a hubby with a fear of heights does not add to the overall equation.
Not only was there plenty to do for my kids (aged 4 and 6) but the crazy crowds I envisioned did not materialize. My older kid who is on the spectrum and is very sensory seeking so she was on a high with the coasters, her younger sister, though not fearful for them, had to miss a few due to the height restrictions (a relief to her wimpy mama). I loved that there was a separate section for smaller kids so my kids could go from ride to ride easily. Even though there are rides throughout the park they could get on it was lovely to have a place dedicated to it.
We did not get to check out the water park due to the weather but be certain I will visit it this year be sure to share my experience with you. The favorite part that both my girls agreed on was the Houdini experience where you feel you are upside down in a house. There is so much to share and since I don’t want to make this post ridiculously long I will be sharing it for the next 4 weeks as I give a new family a pack of tickets each week.
Did you read that last part? I will be giving away a family pack of passes to Six Flags New England for the next 4 weeks. Can’t wait? There are several specials happening right now like Buy One Day get second day free, or take an empty Coke can so you can pay the child admission fee. Also note that Season passes are valid at all 13 Six Flags Theme parks. Each week I will be sharing with you more details and even a video too about our visit.
