Manilla – An Online Organizing Tool For Financials, Rewards, Subscriptions And More.PRODUCTS | Nirasha Jaganath | June 13, 2011 at 10:21 am
When I was dating my now husband I was aghast at his paper methods of paying bills. This was over a decade ago and though everything was not done electronically most were. Banks also have methods to issue checks on your behalf if you prepare them online. Being a software engineer for over 10 years meant I have always looked to doing things online to save time. Way before texting was popular I used to even arrange my flight status to get sent to my phone and since I lived in Boston and my honey in DC you can see that I saved plenty a moment scrambling after delayed flights.
So while many may be hesitant to embrace the online world for organization or financials I am a firm believer in automating and multitasking. The system it affords you to manage it all in one place is worth the initial set up. Though skeptics worry about hacking – this can happen with offline and paper stuff too. There will always be pros and cons for everything you do and you just need to weigh what it affords you.
I recently learned about Manilla and I wanted to share it with you. This is a free online organizational tool that helps manage financial statements, reward programs and subscriptions too. It works with your bank and other institution’s accounts and you can have a single login system. All those who have forgot password to the gazillion sites raise your hand (*raising mine*)? I thought so. While I kind of have financial payments (almost) on keel I must admit the reward program stuff is a mess. This is definitely an area I am missing on exploring and I probably could have enough miles to make that exotic vacation come true that I have been yearning.
Currently the system is a free and the one benefit that is appealing is the indefinite period they offer to store your records. Come tax time that would certainly be a boon.
