Living With Allergies!NEWS | Nirasha Jaganath | February 10, 2011 at 8:21 pm
So this week I co-hosted a class on The Motherhood about allergies. While no-one has food allergies in my family
the topic was one that would resound with anyone. My daughters grew up being vegetarians so that meant a lot of label reading. I am glad for that time since it was a true education which will remain with us. The surge of processed of foods and fast-foods is scary. Then I heard more from the guests at the talk about living with kids with allergies and I realized 2 things. How dangerous food could be (as in if you are dangerously allergic to something) and how your lifestyle changes to accommodate the allergy in a regular day.
The class is sponsored by ConAgra and hosted by TheMotherhood. The one thing I mentioned and live by is “Education – this is so very important. I don’t tell my kids they can’t have something ‘just because’; I educate them. My five-year-old reads so she understand what ingredients are good and bad for her,” I could tell you more but you can catch some of the discussion here
