Happy Valentine’s Day!

Hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s day. Yesterday I was supposed to travel to NYC to attend the 1st day of the Toy Fair and also another event hosted by Fisher Price. I had just been to NY on Saturday for a Hasbro/Playskool/Sesame Street event and had a wonderful time (look out for the post on that). As much I am sure NYC would be fun, I looked at the box of partially done cards (thanks to ThePapaPost for working with the kids on them) and realized I wanted to be there with them. Then I realized I made decisions where I would be, and just like that decided to be home.

Of course I would be traveling more and I can’t always be home (and that is ok) but sometimes, just sometimes, I want to give in to my urge to absorb my children. Come Sunday and they drove me nuts but sitting down while both my 3 yr old and 5 year old wrote names while hubby and I worked with them was a priceless moment. I love my kids dearly, but today, now that I have a few hours while they are in school, I am beyond excited to share this time with my best Valentine.

Have a day fill of love and laughter, and remember to love yourself first!

For sure. Your life is your own and their time as children so short!

I totally get it. Each year the Fashion Week and Toy Fair etc. invitations fill my inbox, and I am excited… until comes the actual time that I should leave my family and jump in the train. It is tough, I admit, and I choose the events where I go very carefully. The time does go fast, and we will never get this time back. Smart choice.

Kudos to you, sweetheart. Your heart home was a-callin’, nothing wrong with that <3

So nice to read about women giving into their hearts, especially when it concerns their children. I’m sure they’ll remember the time you spent with them.

I totally get it. Because as wonderful as all the things we get to do are, sometimes coming home and just being mommy is the best option of them all.

Niri- you’re such a great mom! Sometimes we need our kids to ground us and there’s nothing better than creating the mess and the memories!

One of the reasons that I absolutely adore you is that you are so grounded and so real. I tend to get caught up in the events and things I can do but I read every thing you post.

You are always the perfect reminder for me of what is important in life.
