Villeroy And Boch – Serving Up The Holidays In Style!REVIEWS | Nirasha Jaganath | December 3, 2010 at 1:45 am
You know those dishes? Yeah, the ones you carefully tuck away for an important date or event? Well we all have them and I used to have them – before kids. Well, truth be told my mom used to have them and I still recall the whole hullabaloo on festivals when they were brought out. The whole frantic fuss was enough to make me scared I would chip them or something. Though were beautiful I was so cautious around them. It was the an essential part of the party to have the most gorgeous and best quality serving pieces around.
I am a practical girl. The kind that thinks if it needs ironing for everyday use, it is not getting in our closets. So I always spied dishes that were usable. Don’t get me wrong, I love good quality – oh, make that amazing quality. I just believe the beauty gets lost if I have to walk on eggshells around it. I have always known about Villeroy and Boch dishes, I mean who hasn’t (yeah my hubby doesn’t count)? What I was surprised to hear is that while they make dishes that are just amazingly beautiful, they are also expected to be enjoyed on more than important events. Hmm, sounds like just what I needed.
In fact Isabelle Von Boch gets this message across clearly on the blog that she manages. I can’t wait to full up my casserole dish with everything from lasagna to briyani. That toy platter is so huge but I plan to fill it up with cookies for my holiday party next weekend, and beyond.
Disclosure: I received these pieces from Villeroy And Boch to review!
