Lego Ultimate Block Party In NYC! (Giveaway)

Lego is a firm favorite in our home and millions of others. A really cool event in NYC (why does everything happen there?) and I wanted to share it with you. I know what you are thinking – “Mommy Niri, I live to far from NYC!” – well you for you, my precious reader, I am going to be giving away a Lego construction set.
If you are in the NYC area here are the deets:
WHAT: The Ultimate Block Party: www.UltimateBlockParty.com
WHEN: Sunday October 3rd, 2010 – 11am to 5pm
WHERE: At the Naumburg Bandshell in NY’s Central Park (enter at 72nd St & 5th Ave)
WHY: To ensure that all children are provided with competitive skills for the 21st century global world and to build a public groundswell about the value of play for fostering lifelong learning.
COST: FREE
WHAT from LEGO: Families can build and contribute their own original designs to our LEGO imagination construction zone. They will choose from 250,000 loose green bricks to construct a model for a creative landscape designed and built by Ultimate Block Party attendees.
But as I said, don’t sweat it if you live too far off, you still have a chance to get your Lego fix. Oh, and while we are speaking Lego, did you know that there is actually a Lego Kid’s Festival? Until recently I did not, but they are in Boston this weekend and I plan to take a peek.
Anyway – back to that contest.

I would give them to my son. At 10, he still loves creating with Legos. I am toying (ha!) with the idea of putting together a holiday gift guide of toys that truly stand the test of time (form my perspective of as a mom of two tween boys. Legos are definitely on that list!
And yes, why do all the cool events happen in NYC?

My sons! One is obsessed with legos, and the other wants to do everything his brother does.
I would give it to my 5-year-old son! His 6th birthday is 10/25
One of my favorite activities to play with my son is legos. We construct so many cool things out of his duplo sets, I will not be surprised if he is an architect when he grows up! I frequently visit the Lego store at the Disney Marketplace to see what is on clearance and add it to our collection. Legos have been around for a long time and they bring me back to my childhood! My son and I would SHARE the set. LOL!
