Congratulations Madeline, and Tammy!
When I was approached by Axl’s Closet to check out their online store I had not heard of them before but then again I am not a huge shopping girl. Though admittedly having 2 girls I shop for them all the time. In fact that was my one crazy reason I so wanted girls. Back to Axl’s Closet. They have some “cool” clothes and though that term is used (or rather abused) more I did like that the clothes were up my alley of style (and just when you were wondering if I had any). I am of the adage that children’s clothes should be play clothes. You would seldom find me dressing my kids all primp and party-like. No sirree, I love to know my kids can roll around in comfort in their threads.

Ok so the range on the site seems pretty limited and though it could seem disconcerting to some I preferred it. The one reason I never department store shop is because I do not have the patience and will-power to wade through piles of items to find the bargain. It also means the storage is less and could be why those discounts are pretty steep. Many names were familiar to me being from a beachy South Africa. Having a range from 4 -14 years and somehow managing to find clothes that don’t look sleazy or too preppy means I can find something. I used some of the online credit they gave me to try out the store to buy 2 shirts for my girls. I hardly buy tshirts online but being an ardent love of all things Gandhi I had to buy them. I had to fork out a bit of money on my own but the fact that they offer free shipping and also accept multiple discounts (I mean they rock alone for this) it was really affordable.

I know on the site they say 1% for kids but the impact of charity seems so further from actually being part of it when you just purchase clothing. That was until I received my shipment. Sure the clothing looked great, and I was slightly surprised that 2 shirts ordered with the same color had a tad different shade of it in each but then a plastic envelope fell out of the box. I assumed that this was for returns. What I found was this was to put in 2 old tshirts that your child chooses and these get sent in a postage paid envelope to help kids. Easy peazy and having my kid help choose those shirts, seriously priceless.

Now your turn.
