World Cup Soccer- Go Bafana Bafana!
NEWS | Mommy Niri | June 10, 2010 at 10:38 pmToday World Cup Soccer begins. To me it is especially special as it is held in South Africa. Soccer was a regular part of my school. It was also part of practically every kid’s life. The reason that soccer was so accessible is that you needed nothing, except a ball to play. Shoes, goalposts etc were all (luxury) add-ons. Yes Cricket and Rugby are very much entrenched in South Africa but they are not the sport for the kid on the street – the garb that goes with them is not in the budget for everyone.

I miss the jubilation that goes along with world cup fever but more especially the song and dance that goes along with it. I found this video below and it captured beautifully the heart and essence of World Cup soccer in South Africa!
