National Camping Month! Win The Ultimate Backpacker Kit From The North Face!
CONTESTS | Mommy Niri | June 24, 2010 at 9:36 amCONTEST CLOSED!
Congratulations Chris
June marks the second annual National Camping Month. The North Face wants families to get outside and they are offering the readers of Mommy Niri a wonderful kit to get you started. Look you and I both know that The North Face make the most durable clothing so every single item in this pack is a wonderful prize on it’s own.
I am a camping newbie (as in never done it – oh, stop those gasps) and I fully intend to make my first camping trip this year. The girls are curious so I intend to let them get outside. So when the folks over at The North Face offered this to my readers I thought I should get something in it for me too, and no I did not get any products but advice. Advice, I might add, I decided to share with you. So I asked them some questions on behalf of a newbie camper, you might want to head over to that post to learn more.
But seriously tell me that one lucky reader is not going to be a happy camper?

Interval 25 Day Pack ($119) is a sturdy and comfortable, aluminum based pack with tons of cool stash pockets for water bottles, electronics, and the like. It is made with lots of mesh panels to provide lots of ventilation to keep you cool as you wear it.
Year-long subscription to Backpacker Magazine ($19.94) is on a mission to inspire and enable people to enjoy the outdoors by providing the most trusted and engaging information about backcountry adventure in North America. Articles tell readers how, where and with what to pursue the such activities as trail hiking, backpacking, mountain bike touring, canoe touring, backcountry skiing, family camping, sea kayaking and outdoor photography. Emphasizes destinations, equipment and technique and covers such other topics as health, fitness and environmental and political issues.
Stowable Vaporwick Endurance Hat ($24) is made with material that moves moisture and sweat away from your skin, keeping you comfortable and dry on hot days. The material also has Ultraviolet Protection 15 and heat reflective logos to fight off harsh effects of the sun. The hat is light and flexible, making it easy to stowaway in your pants pocket or the side or your pack.
Planet Explore Water Bottle helps you stay hydrated in whatever outdoor activity you pursue. The Planet Explore logo on the side reminds you where you can go to find outdoor activities right in your neighborhood: http://www.planetexplore.com/
Want to win the above kit, including the backpack, yearlong subscription, hat and bottle?

Well I would camp in my yard because I am freaked out about camping in the woods. But since my son is a first year cub scout, there are several camp outs planned this year for a few of the national parks near us.

Hubby and I are trying to get our MA Parks Passport mostly stamped by the beginning of Fall. We are planning a trip out to The Mohawk Trail in Western MA ,where they not only have great camping hiking and other activities but it is an old Native American site so the trails are older then the country. This will be My second time camping and we are going to be bringing our 3 yr old son Damien on his first camping trip. We have to get the camping gear so this set would be a big $$ help and nice addition. Hope you enjoy your first camping trip.
In case anyone else is interested in checking out the Mohawk trail region here is the site. http://www.mohawktrail.com/
