Curious George is a firm favorite in my home. I love that! He probably resembles a little child more than any character in any of the children’s shows. Enough curiosity to learn but enough mischievousness to constantly be in trouble. The maths and science aspects are well entwined in each episode that kids explore without realizing they are learning. Featuring the voices of Tim Curry, Matt Lauer, Jamie Kennedy and Jerry Lewis, Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey feels like an all star cast.
In this movie George and The Man With The Yellow hat set off to reunite Kayla, a homesick elephant, with her family. An originally unwilling Man With The Yellow Hat eventually gives in to George as he worries over their reputation being ruined as “nappers” in the newspapers. To make matters worse he has a major presentation. Which might explain his exasperation, which I thought was more than I have ever seen, toward George. Truthfully it made me a little sad and uncomfortable to see his irritation and as soon as I mentioned it to my little daughter, I noticed him apologize to George. Somehow that was a little disappointment to me.
The movie has a lot of heart but I feel it lacks the humor. Recently we watched the Very Monkey Christmas movie and that was more along the lines of the Curious George we all know and love. Nevertheless I would watch Curious George any day over some of the trash that is passed off as Children’s enteratinment.

I subscribe to your blog, as well as follow it on Facebook. I’m a fan on Facebook as well. And I just added you to “blogs I follow” (not that I get that much traffic on my blog). I have loved Curious George since I was a kid, and I’m so happy my kids love him too. Re-reading those stories has been so much fun. My favorite is CG Goes to the Hospital, probably because it was my first, when I had to go to the hospital as a child. But I wasn’t expecting to get these instant flashbacks remembering little art details from these stories! It is amazing the little details in the artwork that I recognized instantly! And I laughed at the hospital cart in that story because I was wheeled around in one just like it! LOL!

My kids would love to win this DVD. We checked it out, but had to return it already. They are big George fans.
I agree about the Very Monkey Christmas. We have it on DVR and still watch it. I love the line “Are you ready for Christmas Day to come? Sing it with me, or if you’re a monkey, hum.”
Cracks me up. (Even though he’s a chimp, not a monkey. No tail.)
