I love dolls. I do. I had never seen a doll of color except for a Barbie while I toured India. Actually I lie. That was a white doll just using a sari. I think since then there have been a few dolls of color out there since then. I have not been pleased with the many that I have seen. Call me a prude but many are just plain a mixture of cheesy or sleazy (or both). Also the target range seems to be much higher, or at least the appearance of the doll seem so. While I was at Time To Play event (where they unveiled the Top 16 toys) I stumbled across Corolle Dolls. They caught my eye for several reasons including their range of boy dolls (you can win one too) and also their promotion of non-electronic dolls. Another wonderful discovery was in the their real classy collection dolls of color existed.
My personal favorite is the Cecile from the Les Chéries collection. It seems others are in agreement as this doll won the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award. Of course it may be a little on the pricier sider than what you may throw on a doll and if you give it to a child under 5 (the recommended age) the hair gets all messed up you may wonder if it was worth it. If you focus on quality rather than quantity (which is easy to get sucked into with many cheaper dolls on the market) you may not have dolls that last through the ages.
If you had to guess how many dolls I have in a home with 2 little girls you would easily, and correctly, guess it was way too many. Which is why when you come across a doll exemplifying simplicity, classiness and yet clearly of color you never forget it. This doll will not sit in the back of the closet. Yet, I suggest if you buy this doll and your child is on the younger side, you may want to “help” take care of Cecile so that when she is older she can truly appreciate the beauty of this doll. The impeccable quality of the body with attention to detail and the fashionable sense of dressing makes it a doll you would want to own. Plus you can buy outfits for the doll, which means an easy gift for the next celebratory occasion.

I love to see new and different products, especially gift baskets or sets.
Well something I think would be nice, is job info exchanges. I mean someone could type in a type of job they are looking for, and in what states they’d be willing to move if they were to get a job/career like the one(s) they’d want. Then readers could type in that they know about places people could fax, email, or mail resumes
to about that kind of job, even ones they may have found in their local help wanted ads. It may help some hubby’s get employment. It is just an info exchange kind of thing.
Then of course would like to see the continuation of reviews and giveaways.
I wish Kodak would do a giveaway of their nice new printers with you. Anything to say people money. Who wants to keep paying more than they have to for printer ink.
Lots of family photo’s and such are always fun to look at, like wordless Wednesday photo’s. I like looking at the funny things people get themselves into. It brightens my day, and makes me feel normal.
Keep up the great work you are doing here, I appreciate it and know others do to.
