I have 2 girls so to say that dolls are a part of our life would be highly redundant. As much as I am not a fan of many of the new toys out there (some of it may be because they don’t hold such a memory to me as dolls) dolls have hands down been my favorite toy ever. When I had kids and we had playdates and many of my friends had little boys the topic of boys playing with dolls propped up several times.
Little boys loved pushing my girls strollers and everyone traded stories about how some dads were not keen on their son pushing strollers (read my post on No way is my son pushing a stroller), to grandparents unhappy that the boys wanting a doll-house. My best friend, who has the most open mind ever on this subject, made a wonderful comment that has stuck with me these past few years. She said she did not mind her boy playing with strollers or dolls but would be great to have non pink/girly colors for strollers and would be great to have boy dolls. Actually I heard that request several times over and I wondered if there was some reason toy manufacturers did not think of this.
While I was at the Time To Play event I came across Corolle dolls and several wonderful things caught my eye. The quality was amazing but the fact that they had multicultural dolls and boy dolls in their huge range of dolls. While it may be tough to compete with the highly electronic age and with delivering a doll without all the theatrics, these dolls have managed to to keep their own.
They even have strollers in more neutral colors and designs. I got to take a look at both of these products and while there is no song and dance about them, the simplicity stands out. Although a boy doll (see Suce Pouce Blue, this doll can be for a little girls or boys. Oh, would you believe they have a boy potty doll too? Check out the Paul doll.

What I love the most about this cute babydoll is that it is a BOY. my kids love playing with little girl babydolls but it is not often that we find a little boy babydoll. They would have a blast with it!

My little Livvie would love this doll! She keeps asking for a baby brother. This might be the next best thing. We tried the baby alive doll that wet itself and moved its mouth while eating, last year. It terrified her. That doll seemed possessed and all you could hear were the motors in her mouth running. This doll seems much more practicle, and much better quality.

oh, i love it! one of my favorite song from free to be you and me by marlo thomas, was william wants a doll-it is a sweet song about a little boy wanting a doll and his friends making fun of him. my son loves holding dolls, not so much playing with them, and that is fine with my daughters-they do not want him bothering them anyway!

This is such a great way to teach boys not to destroy everything and find their nurturing side. Taking care of a baby is as much a male’s responsibility as a female’s responsibility! Great idea.
I love it – the girl boy thing is kind of silly. After all, we do want our MEN to help with babies and not be afraid of them, just as the fact that my little budding chef likes his nieces play kitchen – and loves to help me cook and clean(of course at three – he winds up making more mess then cleaning but we have fun which is what counts!)And what better gift to his future wife then a guy who actually likes helpig around the house! Nowadays I see too much inequality at home – moms who go to work all day just like dads but still come home and cook and clean – even when sick – while husbands when sick hide away in their bedrooms (god forbid moms should even lie down for a moment!) and whine and want lots of attention – which doesn’t seem to be reciprocated. I want to teach my son to help out especially as he wants so much to be helpful.
When I was growing up, I was expected to clean and cook while my mom worked long hours – and even clean up after my brother and his friends and serve my mom’s friends at dinner parties – as I was the girl. I don’t want to make any kid of mine do too much as I had to, but I want chores to be equal. So long winded but yeah – I think this is GREAT!

We love baby boy dolls! My son had a baby doll and blue stroller and playpen set when I was pregnant with our daughter. Now our daughter has asked for a boy dolly for Christmas (even though she has a couple!)
We have taught our son that he can play with whatever he wants, we don’t gender assign. It is nearly impossible to find gender neutral toy stollers and boy babies, and why don’t they make Dora clothes for boys or Diego clothes for girls? It makes no sense to me!
