Behind The Scenes Tour At Good Housekeeping!
NEWS | Mommy Niri | November 15, 2009 at 10:06 pm
I had attended a Team Mom blogger’s brunch where Good Housekeeping was one of the sponsors, and they offered guests the opportunity to tour their site. Of course I said yes. I may be behind the times but no one says no to an icon like Good Housekeeping. Although I knew I would be exhausted from being in New York all day (which normally means a 4:00am wakeup call), I was glad to not have to make a separate trip to be privy to this special tour.
I really wish I was taking notes but I really wanted to take pictures. Aren’t you glad I at least bothered to take pictures. I will just say this that I was proud to hear that other than their magazine advertising they do not accept payment for the Good Housekeeping seal. This gave me a newfound respect in them since I also feel as a reviewer to not take compensation to review and that keeps the review authentic. After seeing the rigorous testing every product goes through: from hair dyes, to skin creams, to comforters, toys, clothing, appliances and everything in between.
They have a hall of shame of products and also those that actually gain honor. So much wonderful indepth knowledge that I can barely remember all (thanks to my lack of note taking). Brands I see everyday I began to see in a new light as they passed or failed the tests.

I am so sad that I missed this tour. I would have loved to attended but I had to get back home.
It looks like a really cool place!
How wonderful that you got a behind-the- scenes look at this icon! Thanks for sharing with us!
What an amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes at Good Housekeeping! The photos are neat! Thanks for sharing your experience.
What an awesome opportunity, Mommy Niri. I have always wondered about Good Housekeeping behind the scenes. It looks like so much work, but oh how fun would it be to work there. I am such a product consumer, I would fit in nicely testing and reviewing all those goodies. Thanks so much for the picture. Even if a little town country girl never gets to meet the Big Apple, I at least got to take a little trip in my mind, via your photographs and description. I love your post.
Hi Niri, I wasn’t able to tag along for this tour, I had to get home to my little boy, but I am glad that I kind of get to experience it via your post. Thanks!
