Be Thankful Of Today And Win The Rwandan Peace Basket #path2peaceCONTESTS, REVIEWS & CONTESTS | Nirasha Jaganath | November 12, 2009 at 10:30 pm
CONTEST IS CLOSED!!
Thanksgiving is coming up so that means 2 things for most people: Turkey and also Black Friday. Not to take away anything from tradition, I respect that but Thanksgiving is also a great time to reflect. I have to admit to not being a big Turkey dinner fan (being a vegetarian you could clearly see why) or one to go crazy over shopping (ok, for this one I agree I may need help on) but while working in an office it was just an indication of a long weekend to me, and then having kids meant I was to crazed up to focus (and yes, I plan to blame many things on my kids for as long as they drive me crazy with their whining). Now that they are older I am planning on making this Thanksgiving special.
The more I feel lost without my family nearby, the more we struggle to wonder how we are going to manage another day without a paycheck, and the more I see no light (yet) at the end of the tunnel, the more convinced I am that we could be worse off. Yes, we could be better off too, but then there are many out there that have much less than each other. This is also why I agreed to become a Path To Peace ambassador. The women of Rwanda have endured so much and repeating it is just wasting time looking back, especially when these fine women are ready to trudge ahead. The women of New Orleans too are not counting what they lost but what they gain as they focus on their trade.
Now they want to help bring some of that hope to your home this Thanksgiving. Want to win a Rwandan basket? To enter tell me what are you thankful this Thanksgiving. Make sure that you enter the correct contact details.. To earn extra entries, after you have left a comment, do one of the following, but make sure you leave a separate comment entry for each extra thing you do.
