My Office Max Party !

NEWS | | October 4, 2009 at 9:23 pm

Between all of the parties that I have been hosting lately from the Zhu Zhu Pets party (and I even have one up for grabs), to the ELF Makeup Party to the Healthy Choice Party you would have thought that my home was a Party Central, but this Office Max party had a touch of difference.  This party was to collect school supplies for a local teacher. If you did not already know, Mommy Niri is an Office Max “Max Mom” working to eradicated teachers spending their own money on supplies.

Before I go on I just want to say that projects like these make me proud to be a blogger and part of helping the cause.  On the national level 1000 (title 1) schools will receive $1000 worth of supplies (I can’t wait to report after we surprise that teacher so watch for it – better yet subscribe to Mommy Niri), but on a local level I host a party with a nominated teacher getting to be the recipient. Since education is already a passion for me I just asked a few companies I worked with and they jumped in.

Had Type A Mom conference not been in the middle of the planning I might have done this in a a grander scale but sigh, there only is one Mommy Niri so we will just have to make do (I can just see hubby heaving a sigh of relief). We had a wonderful party and I can’t wait to capture the teacher’s reaction when we surprise him/her. Boo to all the invitees who kept asking what was in it for them. Although I had some fab sponsors for the event (look at the list below) this is a fundraiser people, you come to give not to get.
