After hosting the Zhu Zhu Pets Party, we realized how popular the toy is. People just loved it. The toy, with built-in artificial intelligence, is just too smart. It knows when to back off, when to turn right or left. The Zhu Zhu toy is now hitting the stores – Amazon and Toys R Us. On popular demand, Mommy Niri brings the Zhu Zhu pet for its readers.
The winner gets one Zhu Zhu pet – the electronic hamster toy. The contest closes on the October 11th, 2009. The winner will be chosen by random.org.
Share your experiences about toys and what will you name the pet (”count me in” type comments will not count). Make sure that you enter the correct contact details. Toys have become a thing that can be “scary” rather than enjoyable since the whole “lead in toys,” debacle. I like looking for alternatives now, via etsy, homemade and free of lead or other chemicals that are harmful. Felt tools, ho0me made play dough, and handmade crayons to name but a few.
If we were to win the Hamster I am SURE my 4 yr old, who is allergic to ALL living pets so would be thrilled to win a pet he could ACTUALLY play with, would call him “Undertaker,” after his favourite WWE wrestler!

I like seeing the new toys that come out every year.Sometimes I just don’t get what all the fuss is about.Like the Tickle-Me-Elmo that some people were paying a fortune for so their kid could have one for Christmas.He was cute but not $100 cute.

The name for hamster is Rikki.
Our 5 year old daughter wanted a real hamster a while back. When she saw the commercial for the Zhu Zhu Pets, she said “I want that”. My wife and I figured that we would rather start her off with the Zhu Zhu hamsters! When I asked our daughter what she would name it, she said “cutie pie”!

Oh now isn’t he the cutest thing?! I would name him Butter Bean.
My children both LOVE animal toys. Right now, they are very into Webkinz. In fact, my son’s Google has gone missing, and so he wrote in huge letters on our markerboard: “MUST FIND CUTIE!” Frowny face included! I haven’t found him yet, but when I do, I know I’ll be declared a hero…for five seconds anyway!

We’ve got Zhu Zhu pets on our Amazon wish list for Christmas already. I normally try to avoid toys that require batteries but these look like so much fun. Plus I think our cat would get a kick out it. I would have to let the kids name it and they would probably come up with something totally random. My son named his fish SaySay for a little while.

My kids haven’t seen this toy yet. We only have basic cable and use Roku so they don’t see all the toy commercials. Works out great!! I know they certainly would love this little guy. We have a huge basement they could run him around in. I think we would name him wiggles. I’m trying hard to cut back on toys. I know we certainly can’t afford it. My kids lose interest easily anyway. They love doing crafts and so I buy lots of craft stuff. But you have to have a few toys under the tree and this would be perfect.

My daughter loves her pet hamster and this would be great for her younger brother and sister to play with as well without fear of escape. It would of course be renamed Sprinkle Goldie Sparkles. Mine like to build lego forts fro soldiers and towers for Barbie princesses so the Zhu Zhu would probably get itself a lego maze to explore!
My son loves playing with toys but sometimes it’s tricky picking out something that’s not to scary as he is sensitive.I know he wants a pet but where we live we can’t have one and this would be great for him. We would name it cookie or fluffy.
My 5 y/o daughter would love this. She’s seen it on TV and I am hoping Santa will be able to afford something like it this year.
I have three kids ages 6, 6 and 5 – so this toy would be a hit with them and most likely myself and my husband, I admit it.
If one of my twins gets to name this, it will be named Martin .. just like every other “pet” he has, everything is named Martin. 
My daughter is obsessed with zhu zhu pets.
She would name hers “Chunk”. (That’s one of the hamsters name but she loves it). She watches the videos on the website and reads their blogs, knows the jingle off my hear (I almost do too!), and is asking me every day if she can get one.
She is even willing to spend her lemonade stand money. She is a deserving winner if ever I saw one.

When my children were small, and there were toys to be put together to be put under the Christmas tree, I remember my father in the living room, working on them–sometimes until late at night. Because the instructions were so often confusing, he lived by the motto–if all else fails, consult the instructions. He rarely had to consult them! A very happy memory of a man who would forever deny that he had a soft spot for kids!

I remember the cabbage patch kid craze in the 80′s-My mom went crazy to get me one and then I was mad that it was a boy and not a girl. It makes me want to smack myself. LOL Anyway, we would name the zhu zhu pet Squeaker.

Alison would like to get the toy hamster car and name her hamster Putt. I like toys that makes the kids use their imaginations.

Toys are everywhere in our house. And after every toy commercial I hear “Mom, I want that!” My 6yo daughter wants a zhu zhu. She said she would name her Isabella after her best friend.
My son has been asking for a hamster and this would be great – no mess and it won’t die (assuming batteries can be replaced); I think Mr. Squiggles would have to keep the name he came with …
My daughter wants one of these and they seem very cute, so many toys today look like a good idea but doesnt live up to 1/2 the expectations once they get it out of the box. From the reviews on these, they seem to actually live up to kid’s expectations. If I won Id give it to my daughter as a birthday or Christmas gift (so I dont want to ask her what she would name one) but to give you an idea this is the same kid who owned two fish- one was named Roof & the other Hamburger. LOL

Toys are great we have them everywhere. Some toys are better than others but all around toys make imaginations grow and thrive. We have seen these online and my son wants one badly. He said he would name his Winston after a his late grandfather. I’d much rather him have this than a real one because this one can’t bite if it get’s irritated =)

We have had an electronic pet already. My Father got my oldest a mechanical cat. She loves it. Sleeps with it every night. However I no longer put batteries in it as all four legs are broke, it’s missing both ears and now when it gets around my laptop it hisses uncontrolably. If we got the hamster I’m sure my girls would name it something cute like fuzzy or squeaky.
There are a lot of really good quality, fun toys out there, and there are the ones that get thrown in the back of the closet. From what I’ve heard about these, they seem like a toy that the kids love and continue playing with even after the novelty wears off. Mine said she wanted a hamster to call Mr. Fuzzems

Toys are a dime a dozen but great quality toys at a reasonable price are hard to find. This is something my kids would enjoy playing with. We can’t have pets where we live, so this would be great as it’s the next best thing. If it was up to me to name it, the name would be Gypsy. Thanks.

Usually I prefer toys that are old-school, meaning no beeps or movement, but holy moly this is SO CUTE! I love it! I have no idea what my kiddo would name it, but she comes up with some fairly unusual names so a Yogurt, BeeBop, or Feather Duster would not be out of the realm of possibility!

I am five. My name was Zhu Zhu when I was a little girl in China but I was adopted and now I go by Robin and live in Texas. I love stuffed toys and all animals and would love a hamster with my name. I will name her Zhu Zhu.
My little girl kept telling me she wants a hamster. Then she saw the Zhu Zhu Hamster on tv and she said “Mommy if we get this hamster we don’t have to clean her cage!” She said if Santa brings her one she wants to name it “BLUE”

My kids want to name theirs PuffBall. We’ve never had a toy like this before, it seems to be the must have toy this year.
A neighbor saw these and really liked them. I like that they don’t leave a mess or die. My son would name him “Ninja”
These have got to be the best new toy this year. Let’s see – they don’t need food (except batteries), don’t escape and leave droppings all over, don’t smell or shed or bite. My family would love these. I’d name one “Scooter”. My son thinks “Goofy” is a good name.

My experience with toys, lets see, the more it costs the longer it sits around, sometimes the box is more fun than the actual toy, and the toys my 5 year old has now are way more advanced and cooler than anything I ever had as a child! I’m not sure what my son would name a hamster, so far we have had mice, one named Cookie, one named Mousey Mouse and one named Bubbles. I’m sure it would be very interesting though, judging from the last naming session for his mouse Bubbles! Thanks for the giveaway!

Wish I was a kid again then I would have love the Zhu Zhu, I would call it Mushy, which was the name of my first hamster which I loved dearly.
Just the fact that it is not going to need cleaning and feeding makes this the number one pet in my eyes. Moomoo would be her name given by my deaf son as this is the only word he can say.

My daughter loves animals so much. Just like her mom. When I was little I had a tiny little duck and mouse, Duckie and Mousey original I know, I had them for years and loved them so much. My daughters fav toy the a bit over a year now is her Bolt dog, the dog has been everywhere with us. My daughter would name it, she usually keeps the name they come with because she doesn’t want to “steal the name from them” haha.

My daughter loves her toys! If we got one of them, I am not sure what my daughter would name it lol probably just Hamster. These look so neat.
I know my 7 year old really wants a teddy bear hamster that she could name teddy. If we got a zhu zhu pet, I would name it Teddy and perhaps it would stall her begging for a real animal for a bit. I do wonder if this is a toy that they play with for an hour and then it goes to the bottom of the toybox for months or if this is one they will play with over and over again for a long time.

My daughter wants one to name Taco. Thats what she names everything. I have been looking for one of these for a while so she could get one for christmas like her friends at school, but after a woman from our town bought the whole shipment that came in to walmart to resell, I cant afford to get one.
