Win A Month’s Supply Of Dropps Laundry Detergent (3 Winners)

CONTESTS, PRODUCTS, REVIEWS & CONTESTS | | September 19, 2009 at 7:01 pm

CONTEST CLOSED !!!

A few months ago I was approached to try out the Dropps Laundry Detergent. We had just bought a new washer and it took only high efficiency “he” type detergents. Thankfully it was marked he. There have been several all-in-one type detergents, but Dropps is truly different. If you recall I enjoyed trying out the Purex 3-1in-1 laundry sheets but was not too keen on the scent. The great thing about Dropps is that like Purex there is no measuring (wahoo) but the scents are either very light or non-existent, depending on the one you use.

Its super-concentrated formula fits in tiny, pre-measured “toss-and-go” dissolvable pacs and I was a bit wary of tossing something that looked like plastic directly in the washer (that’s right, not where the detergent goes but just along with the clothes), but I did and it was fine. Once it dissolves in your washer, it’s tough on dirt, but easy on your favorite garments. No harsh chemicals means a safer planet and removing water means a super concentrated pack.

I was happy to see no bulky plastic bottles, not only because the energy that comes in making and shipping them ridiculous, but also because my girls can’t drop them. So you can keep your clothes and the earth clean.

Dropps are currently available in Fresh Scent, Scent Dye Free, and Dropps Baby (Scent, Dye, and Enzyme Free).

Want to win a month’s supply of the Dropps Laundry Detergent? There will be 3 (three winners) The contest closes on the October 4th, 2009. The winner will be chosen by random.org.

I’ve never been very good at doing laundry lol, I just don’t like doing it! I’ve turned many clothes pink in my day and the family never lets me forget it!!

I’m only washing in cold water now and being very careful to do full loads and not waste any water; this would be great to try!

I do a lot of laundry (2-3 loads/a day) because there are five of us in our family. It is a bummer too, because we rent our house, and the washer and dryer are really old and in bad shape. Our landlord will only replace them if they break down and can’t be fixed. The hardest thing for me to do is to get my whites really white. I don’t know what I am doing wrong, but they always look dingy grey to me.

Laundry, well I hate it. There is no other way to say it. I live in an apartment so I have to haul the baskets, laundry detergents, we use 3 types for the different laundry. Then bring up the wet clothes that I hang which is like 75% of the laundry which is so heavy. Then wait for the dryers to finish to put the next loads in. Wash is 20 minutes and dry is 55. There are only 3 machines down there and it is community. I hate it. I would do just about anything to have my own machines at this point. If it were not absolutely necessary, I would just boycott all together laundry. I would love to try these laundry things you are giving away. Sounds like it could replace my detergents.

I really don’t like doing laundry. Have you ever realized how many “steps” it takes to do a load of laundry only to start over again? Sort, load, add detergent, wash, put into dryer, add dryer sheet, pull out and sort, fold, put on hangers and put away. Oh my goodness! I’d rather clean my toilet, no lie! The only upside to laundry is the scent of the soap and clean clothes, lol.

    Thank you for the giveaway.

I do laundry throughout the week, usually dropping a load in the washer in the morning before I go to work, then putting it in the dryer when I get home. I always hang/fold clothes as they come out of the dryer — I absolutely HATE when clean stuff gets put in a laundry basket!!

I do my laundry approximately once a week. I have one load of whites and one of darks! My husband on the other hand, will not do laundry until he has ran completely out of clothes. He does his own laundry becuase, all I asked was for him to clean out his pockets before putting his clothes in the laundry, and he couldnt even do that. I washed my MP3 player that HE left in his pocket once before, and that was the last time I really did all of his laundry for him. I guess I am a horrible wife – LOL – nah!!! Cleaning out pockets are my least fav thing about doing laundry – thats why I dont do it! :) Thanks for the great fiveaway!

I try to do laundry on the same day each week. There are only two of us, so I generally only have a few loads to do. I add fabric softener to most loads and chlorine bleach to whites. I have been avoiding laundry as much as possible lately because my dryer is dying and sounds like a freight train, and I recently had surgery and I’m not supposed to do any leaning over or lifting yet. Because of sensitive skin and respiratory problems, we use dye- and scent-free products whenever possible. After I was asked to do a blind test recently, I discovered that Clorox II now makes a much better bleach alternative than the BIZ I’ve been using so long, but I haven’t been able to find their perfume- and dye-free version locally yet.

I’ve been looking for reasons to like doing laundry (my goal with all of my work). Not always easy to do, but I’ve come up with this: I’m thankful to have such a nice husband and boys who make all of the dirty clothes – or – I try to focus on how wonderful it feels to have it done!

I hate trecking to the basement to sort laundry. Our washer and dryer came with the house, so they are by no means the best. We have to do small loads and make frequent trips.

Laundry isn’t that difficult but boy oh boy is it time consuming! I start a load of laundry when I first get up – even before I get a cup of coffee. That way I can get a load or two done before I realize who and where I am!

I love doing laundry because it’s like washing your life clean. HOT, soapy water and dirty laundry…then clean water flowing through all the fabric, rinsing away all the washed out stickies, dirties, smudgies, smellies…
Then! Into the dryer with everything. Dryer sheets and tumbling until everything’s soft and renewed…waiting to be folded and put neatly away.
    It’s really therapeutic!
The only thing that would make it better is if I could have one of those industrial-sized front loading washers that LOCKS and that you can watch the cleaning happen!…and one of those huge dryers that holds 5 loads!

I don’t mind doing laundry, there are other chores I dislike much more – but we’ve recently moved to a high-rise apartment in the city and are sharing a laundry room for the first time, and it takes a bit of getting used to, having my undies and things out in front of strangers.

I splurge on liquid detergent because powder detergent always seems to clump on at least on piece of clothing, even if I put it in first to get soapy in the water. Maybe I’m just doing something wrong! This looks like it would make laundry easier in a LOT of ways!
