Gary Hirshberg, CEO Of The Organic Stonyfield Farm, Introduces YoBaby Meals!

hWhen I received the invitation to attend the Stonyfield Blogger event memories of my girls being babies and eating came flooding back. If you don’t know by now, though in honesty you would be hard pressed to find someone who has not heard of Stonyfield, Stonyfield is the makers of organic yogurt among other things. If you were a mama like me, who was not too particular about her own food as much as she was her own, you would have searched high and low and discovered YoBaby yogurt. YoBaby, unlike many yogurts out there is a full fat organic yogurt. I can still see those messy mouths licking every last bit of the yogurt. Somtimes they would eat so much of it I wondered if it was too much. Better yet I remember days when there were remnants left (and those days were fewer than I liked) and I ate that yogurt and loved what full cream yogurt tasted like. Yummy!
My girls have sadly moved off from the yougurt train (the messiness factor got in), though sometimes we still make pit-stops trying out a Mango Lassi (a much loved Indian smoothie type concoction made with yogurt and mango pulp watered down to a drinkable level) we have sadly not kept the momentum.  Still I was interested to learn what Gary Hirshberg, the CEO (or CE-Yo as they like to call him) had to say. Also they had just launched their YoBaby meals, a blend of fruit and veggies in the yogurt. No need to raise your eyebrows, I hear you, freaky right? Of course we (Indians) have always had some veggies grated in yogurt (which we call raita) but not really a sweet one.
So as I (reluctantly) mixed my blend yogurt with pear and green beans, I straightened up to listen to Gary. With the hope that his speech may be inspirational enough to distract me from the taste, I was amazed that the sneaky idea of getting vegetables in would trick any toddler. Hearing Gary speak of the organic way of life was equally fascinating. It was the passion of which he spoke and the active participation of promoting a better life through mediums beyond his brand of food.
I won’t speak more on Organic food, we can cover that later but I will say make sure you check out those aisles for some of these newer offerings. And while you are at if make sure to view Food Inc, featuring Gary getting the message across, at a theatre near you.

    My daughter (1 year) has been eating these for the past month or two. Found them near my regular Stonyfield yogurt. It’s brilliant. Plain, healthy, organic yogurt + the equivalent of the food cubes I make…ready to go! Awesome take-on-the-go meal. I only need to put it in someone’s fridge instead of needing to use their freezer and microwave too. DD loves them.

    One drawback. Now she only wants to eat yogurt out of those cups. We had to save a couple to keep re-using when we serve her plain (organic Stonyfield) yogurt. LOL

      Hi Megan,

      Where can I find the full fat Stonyfield yogurt for my 13 months old baby.I tried Safeway but it has light or fat free Stonyfield yogurt. Does Stonyfield yogurt has flavor too for toddlers? Should I try Amazon. Please reply.
