Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Partyware Adds A Punch To Parties!PRODUCTS, REVIEWS | Nirasha Jaganath | August 14, 2009 at 8:12 pm
When the folks at MomSelect asked me whether I would review the new Nickelodeon’s partyware for SpongeBob I must admit to having some mixed feelings. My older daughter somehow the previous Halloween was scared out of her wits by some characters at a party, namely Scooby Doo and SpongeBob and that fear had remained for a long time. I think it must be due to being so little and having those larger than life characters masquerade at a party, would be enough to scare any person.
Anyway, when they promised a few extras to kick the show on the road, I decided to take a chance. I am a gambling type of mom, except at casinos, and decided now was as best a time as any to test the waters. At least it was earlier than Halloween, where I could be certain someone would dress up as SpongeBob. I was hesitant to mention earlier but when the package arrived I did show it my 4 year old who was not impressed until she saw the package of activities and refreshments that came with.
The partyware survived the playdate I hosted with toddlers and preschoolers. Which, as any mama would know is no mean feat. I love themed partyware but am wary due to the price and durability. The price I guess is no getting past and since I normally host very big birthday parties it may nto be an option for me. As far as playdates and smaller parties it sertainly does add to the spirit of the event. Dora might have been a tad more popular though.
We were inspired for activities from the MomSelect site featuring Nickelodeon activities and recipes. As for the durability I was really impressed. No leaky plates or squished cups here. At the end of the day Spongebob was no longer a feared icon in my home, and my carpet suffered no aftermath from poor papergoods.
