Although for a different age group than this toy is intended, I like the Leap Frog LuLu learning toy for learning the alphabet. I have a tot who really likes it, and is picking up his letters quite readily from using it so often.
My children just love their Leapster.

I faved you on facebook
My fave learning toy – I don’t know the name of it – but my son used to have one and loved it! It was a Leapfrog shopping cart with a scanner wand and different plastic “items” like milk, eggs, grapes, etc. You could scan them and it would tell you their colors, numbers and sing little songs! So cute!
I think it would be lego or building blocks!

I am going retro or classic too and say Lego blocks. I feel they are a great basis for learning before the child moves on to more “tech” toys. It’s like learning “real” arithmetic before learning to use a calculator. You need the basics.
my fav was lego’s
Leapfrog Leapster is hands down the best.
I love the leapsters, especially tables.
Lately my favorite learning toy is MagnaBlocks. They are these great magnetic blocks that my daughter received last Christmas. They are great for learning shapes, colors, etc.
We get as much learning and computer games as we can. We used to love Dr. Brain!
I’ve always loved puzzles & the game memory.

My favorite learning toy was a dinosaur spelling game that we got for my son.
I loved that once you spelled a word that the dino would eat it.
our favorite are games we can play together, uno, boggles etc.
I love lego. My kids love lego.
I have 2 boys and 2 girls, and I have to say lego, not because alot of people are saying it, they are the only toy my kids would drop a video game for. The last time I brought the legos out, my 4 yr. old made a “T” by herself and boy was she proud of that.
My favorite learning toy wasnt really a toy but a game. But littlest pet monopoly. It has helped our daughter with learning as well as counting money

The LeapFrog Didj SW Sonic learning system is my favorite.
My son has the leapster right now and I can tell you that he has learnt so much from this. The games are fabulous. It’s amazing how much they learn when they’re having fun. Learning should be fun! I can’t wait for him to grow out of this and into the Didj.
My favorite learning toy is the Speak & Spell.
