Safety While SurfingREVIEWS | Nirasha Jaganath | February 22, 2009 at 10:02 pm
When I started blogging last year, I did so with a lot of gusto. Writing aimlessly and sometimes carelessly about my kids. When I attended BlogHer 2008, the questions regarding safety on the web arose. I panicked. Was I giving away too much information? I curtailed my posts and created a separate blog dedicated to the adventures of my angels, with restricted access. I relaxed. Then I started hearing stories about kids online and weird (and sometimes dangerous) strangers lurking and chatting to them.
Although my kids are too young to be browsing the web, I do know that stage is but a stone throw away. Mom Central brought my attention to the new Norton Online Family software. It is a service to give parents a tool to monitor and protect children online. The software is meant to launch in Spring this year, but you can take a sneak peak at their software at Norton Online Family. Go ahead, try it. You have always trusted Norton Symantec for viruses and such so now let them help you ensure your kids are safe online.
