It’s Pumpkin Time!

With October comes pumpkin time. With Halloween, Diwali and our birthdays (yes, my husband and I share the same birthday, freaky, I know) in October this is certainly one of my favorite months. We decided to kickstart the month with a visit to Wilson Farms. It was already a busy day with swimming classes for Jia and Field Hockey Coaching by Ramesh, but there was no way we could not bring home a pumpkin. There is no commercialism at this small farm and that is exactly the charm that draws us to this farm each year. We can be guaranteed there won’t be endless lines to just take a hayride. We were greeted to fresh apple cider, along with apples and candy, all complementary, while we waited for out hayride. The ride was short and simple but also simply enjoyable. It is a perfect place for toddlers as it is spooky but nothing scary.
Of course the line to get the freshly made apple cider donuts was pretty long, but a taste of a donut and you would see why. We managed to go through the huge selection of pumpkins to get the perfect ones for Jia and Bela. Shopping for fresh produce is always a firm favorite for me. This is only the beginning to the start of Halloweenish activities and since Jia is older this year the fun of this festival will surely be felt.
