Kid’s Party At BordersUncategorized | Nirasha Jaganath | September 27, 2008 at 4:56 pm
Since we were having our carpets steam cleaned, (yay! bye-bye playdoh, hot chocolate and who-knows-what stains) and it was a dreary rainy day (I know, crazy time to get the carpets cleaned but the carpets REALLY needed the cleaning before winter set in), we needed a place to keep the kids out of the house. Luckily for us Borders was having its Kids Party. We normally attend the storytime when we can since they have the most fabulous crafts thereafter (all done with a most patient lady, who also happens to be an ex-teacher). Although having the kids so close in age has been tough I love that they both are starting to like similar stuff. I can easily hand them crayons, paint or play-doh (though no more on my freshly cleaned carpets).
It was a lot of fun hearing the story Pinkalicious. Even Jia who does not like listening to storytime (unless she is the one reading the book) really got interested. Then it was time to do arts and crafts where even Bela got into the action. It is amazing how much she loves this stuff. Then we began to march all around the store picking up treats all along the way. Funny how being a parent means that you don;t care howw off-tune you are and sing anyway (or is that just me?). There was yummy beverages and cookies for all. There was even a coloring competition but Jia liked her coloring way too much asked for it back to take home.
