Mommy Niri Diet: Week 1

A little about my diet journey can be found at the blog post Diet Starts Monday. I am going to blog my journey in hope of getting me to stick to it. If you have ideas please comment away, if you want to join in and share your journey, comment away too. I will post weekly updates as to my progress (good or bad). I have signed onto Weight Watchers as I have always seen results with them. I do not follow their current plan but an older one I remember easily. I hope to start exercising whenever the laziness spirit ends. I keep putting off canceling the gym membership in hope of using it someday.

What did I learn this week?
  • That nursing is wonderful for burning calories. Unfortunately now that I am not nursing, the scale is not so forgiving of all my nibbling.
  • I need to drink water!
  • It is important to have the cupboards and fridge stocked with diet friendly food.
  • I have to stop eating leftovers from the kids. The thought of wasting food is painful for me (especially coming from Africa) but I need to find other ways to deal with it.

How did I do?
  • Lost a little over a lb. A bit disappointing but another chance to do better next week. I guess I could have done worse.

    Nice work Momma! You don’t want to lose to fast. Slow and steady wins the race and the odds are much higher you will keep the weight off.

    :) I know that you are right. When the road looks so long it can become daunting to think you will finish.
