Every Friday Should Be A Sing Song Friday

It is Friday morning and yet again we get to enjoy Bernadette Baird’s wonderful music program at the Wilmington Library. I have no idea if this Kindermusik teacher realizes just how popular her event is. Although free, this event is a ticketed one a week ahead and within an hour of the tickets becoming available they are snapped up. The waiting list is a long one and you may wonder what all the fuss is about indeed. Well, if you are lucky enough to get in to a class you will not only see, but you will also hear several beautiful reasons why. For us this place feels like a reunion with neighbors and several friends (our Gymboree alumni is everywhere). We have loved her other shows at the library (see Sing Song Friday) and we will never forget her show for Bela’s 1st Birthday.
There was a pretty amusing scene during her program when Bernadette got out the colorful parachute on the floor. All the kids were supposed to hold on to the edges of the parachute but Gryffin, Jacob and Jia (all ex Gymboree kids) promptly plunked themselves right in the middle of the parachute. Everyone looked around trying to figure out what was going on while we laughed knowing they expected to be carried while on the parachute, similar to Gymboree. Funny thing was while in Gymboree I never noticed Jia so compliant to sit on the parachute. Maybe things are finally sinking in!
