  • Summer Party
This was a wonderfully planned annual party by Gail, a work friend of Ramesh. She had all the ingredients of the perfect summer event, … wonderful food, a heated pool, and cool sounds by a live band (the Flat Hill Band). Check out Bela bopping to the tunes!

  • Jia Goes To The Movies!
It was a last minute surprise to watch a movie with Jia. After digging through the listings I finally found one that was rated “G”. It was Wall-E. I had no idea about the movie, or any movie for that matter (ahem.. except for Sex And The City) since I never get to watch moves. And NO, it is not because I don’t love movies, I do have a 1 year old and...

  • Bela At Gymboree
We finally made it back to a class at Gymboree after missing several classes, courtesy of the plethora of birthday parties (see blog on kiddie birthdays). I think a mommy friend, who was in a similar situation, quite accurately declared “I think I donated my money to that place”. So many special memories at Gymboree ( Jia started there at 6 months old)...

  • Lil Girls At The Big Wheels
What do these big trucks and toddlers have in common? Both are loud, demand a lot of attention and are bloody expensive to maintain. Jia and Bela enjoy a very hot summer day at Big Wheels day at the library. Is it just me or can you just imagine Jia being a trucker in these photos? Bela could not understand what the fuss was about and just drifted off to sleep… typical...

  • Spa with Power Tools?
I was on my way to the hair salon and when I found it closed I decided to go to the Spa next door. I really needed a pedicure anyway. For way over 3 years I have been either pregnant, too lazy, too tired or all of the above to give too much attention to my hands and feet. I read somewhere that white nail polish is the new color for any skin tone and though my inner common...

  • Strawberry Picking At Smolak Farms
Strawberry Picking seemed like the best way to enjoy another perfect summer day with the kids. They would be outside, working for their own food and kept busy out of trouble. Sounds ideal, doesn’t it? Jia and Bela seemed undeterred by the fact that the ripe strawberries were few and far between and had a good time hunting anyway. While Jia, the “don’t-make-me...

  • Crane Beach
You have to be a crazy kid to stand in icy water and love it anyway. Whether it was running in for a dip in the ocean, building sandcastles on the shore or searching for that perfect sea shell, we had all the elements of a beach day to remember.

  • Jia’s 3rd Birthday
Jia’s 3rd birthday was held at the Kids Playground in Woburn, ma, a big indoor playground for kids. After Bela’s 1st Birthday party had 33 kids in attendance this location with its tunnels, tree-house and pretend play rooms seemed ideal. After playing all the kids were treated to a Dora birthday party. After stuffing of pizza, punch, ice-cream and cake, everyone...

  • Bela’s 1st Birthday
Bela’s 1st Birthday party had 33 kids and their families cramped in our lounge enjoying the wonderful music by Kindermusik teacher Bernadette Baird. She was enthralling enough that all we could see was smiling faces. Maybe it was the yummy samosas or spicy paun bhaji on a cold April morning but there was merriment all over. Maybe too much as the birthday girl Bela...

  • Pre-School Daze
Anyone else contemplating preschool for their kids and has managed to figure out the path through the maze? Well that is where we are right now. We just registered Miss J at the preschool to start this fall. We were doing trial runs and I had her baby sis Miss B with me when a couple of 5 year old girls (the school has mixed ages 3-6) started snickering something to each...
